Job purpose

The role will focus 80% on strategic pricing, yield and volume growth on focus LCL & BCN tradelanes and 20% on LCL network development and optimization initiatives for the region.

Principal accountabilities

  • Strategic pricing, yield and volume growth (80%):
    • Collaborate closely with country teams to develop and implement strategies to maximize LCL & BCN volume growth and market penetration on focus tradelanes particularly for locally controlled SME customers
    • Monitoring and management of the MTS rate competitiveness with the regions, as well as completeness of precarriage / oncarriage charges.
    • Coach and provide guidance to country LCL and Growth teams in defining the product value proposition in alignment with target customer needs
    • Build and nurture relationships with key customers in the respective regions to grow SOW, enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
    • Participate in Global RFQs by providing pricing strategies and technical solutions to win and increase the hit rate. Prepare risk assessments and facilitate walk-away pricing decisions
  • Monitor and follow up on customer implementation, shipment trend and GP. Steer commercial and yield management activities with respective stakeholders to ensure STP and profitable growth.
  • Network Development and Optimization (20%):
    • Steer tradelane bilateral initiatives to develop and implement strategies for expanding our service offerings based on market demand and operational capabilities to enhance our competitive advantage
  • Analyze network performance and identify areas for improvement to optimize utilization of own boxes, reduce costs, and enhance overall network connectivity

Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, Education and Experience

  • Deep knowledge of forwarding business and understanding of supply chain logistics
  • Recognized subject matter expert of OFR LCL product offering typically obtained through advanced education and work experience
  • Manage large projects or processes with limited oversight from manager
  • Strong project management skills paired with pro-active behavior to stay on top of multiple deadlines for multiple bids in parallel
  • Good communication skills to properly engage with country OCCs of different countries and cultural backgrounds
  • Strong analytical mind ideally paired with ops experience to be able to quickly understand and challenge country bid input
  • Ability to work under pressure to cope with periods of high workload and tight timelines
  • In-depth knowledge of LCL operations, pricing strategies, and RFQ processes.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify network optimization opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Education Level

Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field.

Experience Level

+10 years experience in business development and/ or sales roles within the logistics industry
