The Technische Informationsbibliothek (TIB) – Leibniz Information Centre for Science and Technology – Program Area C, Research and Development, is looking to employ a

to work in Program Area C at the earliest possible opportunity.

The position is a permanent position. The regular weekly working time is 39.8 hours (full-time). The position is generally suitable for part-time work. The remuneration is based on pay scale group 13 TV-L.

Your challenge

Program Areas C and D drive TIB's research and development activities. As a Research Development Officer, you will work closely with the Head of Program Area C to support and advance these activities. Acting as a central interface across TIB, you will foster collaboration between organizational units, strengthen cross-programme cooperation, and contribute to the further development of strategic topics in research and development.

Your responsibilities include

• Support the strategic development of research and development (R&D) activities in Program Areas C and D. This includes contributing to cross-programme R&D initiatives, supporting measures to promote the development of early-career researchers, and contributing to the representation of TIB in scientific networks and collaborations.
• Support Program Areas C and D in coordinating their R&D activities and foster communication and collaboration between the R&D areas and other organizational units of TIB, in particular Program Areas A and B as well as central departments. This includes designing and facilitating appropriate coordination and exchange formats and supporting cross-organizational collaboration across TIB.
• Analyze, develop, and advance strategic cross-cutting topics in research and development, in particular research security, R&D reporting, evaluation, and the monitoring of developments in science, research, and innovation policy.

Your profile

• A completed university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in a relevant field and a completed doctoral degree (PhD), preferably in a discipline related to TIB's scientific focus areas, in particular the natural sciences or engineering.
• Sound knowledge of the research and higher education system as well as experience with scientific processes, research activities, and scientific collaboration.
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills, with the ability to structure complex issues and communicate them effectively to different audiences.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and coordination skills, combined with a high degree of initiative and the ability to work collaboratively.
• Extensive knowledge of using digital technologies, such as cloud and AI platforms.
• Excellent written and spoken German and English.

Desirable additions to your profile

• Knowledge of strategic research development, research security, evaluation, and science policy.
• Experience in research management or in the context of research infrastructure organizations.
• Experience in cross-organizational coordination and collaboration with a broad range of stakeholders.
