For our Global Competence Center Aggregates (CCA) we are looking for a Project Manager - Autonomous Mining.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Manager to lead the rollout of autonomous haul, trucks and other mining mobile equipment. This role involves planning, execution, and deployment of autonomous vehicle solutions to improve efficiency, safety, and productivity in mining operations.
This position is located in Heidelberg and you will report to the Project Director – Autonomous Mining.
YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE
Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, outlining timelines, budgets, milestones and resource requirements
Coordinate across multiple teams to ensure smooth integration of autonomous systems into existing operations.
Manage the delivery of projects on time, within scope, and within budget
Act as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders (operations, engineering, IT, and safety teams) and external partners (vendors, technology providers, and contractors).
Ensure clear communication of project goals, progress, and requirements to all stakeholders
Drive alignment among diverse stakeholders to achieve project objectives
Oversee the implementation of autonomous haulage systems (AHS) and other mobile equipment, including installation (Hardware and Software), testing, and commissioning
Work with technical teams to configure and calibrate autonomous equipment for optimal performance
Work methodically with the Autonomous Mining DNI (Digital Network Infrastructure)
Ensure all systems meet operational requirements, including safety, reliability, and efficiency standards
Integrate safety protocols and compliance standards into all aspects of the project
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and operational guidelines for autonomous systems in mining environments
Promote a culture of safety throughout the project lifecycle.
Coordinate across multiple teams to ensure smooth integration of autonomous systems into existing operations
YOUR PROFILE
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mining Engineering with Project Management experience preferred
• Quarry Operations experience with significant Heavy Mobile Equipment experience and a successful track record in Load and Haul operations is advantageous
• At least 2 years of experience in project management, preferably in the mining, industrial, or autonomous technology sectors
• Experience in large-scale techn ology rollouts in challenging environments is advantageousUnderstanding of autonomous systems, strong understanding of mining operations and Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME)
• Excellent project management skills, including proficiency with tools like MS Project, Primavera, or similar software
• Understanding of the use and application Quarry Development Plans is ideal
• Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams
• Familiarity with mining operations, autonomous mobile quipment, or related industries is highly desirableThe role requires travel to sites for project implementation and stakeholder engagement
