We are seeking a highly motivated lab-based Tissue Omics Scientist (m/f/d) with hands-on experience in cutting-egde spatial and single-cell technologies to support multi-omics profiling and deepen our understanding of human disease mechanisms.
The successful candidate will be instrumental in the automation of workflows as well as implementation of cutting-edge technologies, driving innovation and expanding the boundaries of human tissue biology.
This role requires a solid foundation in human disease profiling, including expertise in pathology, coupled with substantial hands-on experience in single-cell omics platforms, particularly spatial proteomics, to produce high-quality data that drives meaningful and actionable insights.
Responsibilities:
- Support the exploration and implementation of automated workflows to enhance efficiency in sample processing.
- Apply advanced technologies, including multiplex protein and RNA imaging, single-cell and histology readouts, to comprehensively profile patient biospecimens.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including lab scientists, analytical teams and disease experts to enable actionable insights and translational outcomes.
- Effectively communicate findings and their broader implications to diverse internal and external stakeholders through clear and impactful presentations.
- Drive innovation by continuously evaluating, optimizing, and adopting cutting-edge technologies to advance our research capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., biology, immunology, molecular biology) and minimum 2 years of additional experience in researching human inflammatory and fibrotic diseases.
- Experience in profiling human diseases and knowledge of translational models and patient-derived tissue studies.
- Hands-on experience with handling, processing, and analyzing human samples including single cell and/or image-based spatial technologies (particularly spatial proteomics).
- Familiarity with analytical methods, including AI/ML tools.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Problem-solving attitude, good organizational and communication skills, with adaptability to a dynamic research environment.
This is an on-site role based in Heidelberg, Germany, which is fully integrated into GSK's Research and Development (R&D) and located on the campus of the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL).
