This position offers the unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge research related to immunometabolism in human skin within a highly dynamic research environment.

The successful candidate will join a translational research lab, working in close collaboration with MD and PhD lab members, as well as national and international collaborators. A key area of research will be the metabolic regulation of immune cells in human skin cancer. We believe that a deeper understanding of these mechanisms will pave the way for novel treatment options. This project is supported by the Volkswagen Foundation’s Momentum Initiative, offering the candidate a chance to engage in an emerging research field and to develop innovative concepts.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• independent planning and execution of research projects (experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation)
• publication of research findings (writing manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals and conference contributions)
• supervision and guidance of students, particularly medical students
• collaboration with internal and external research partners

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• PhD in Biomedical Sciences, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field
• experience in biomedical research
• strong motivation to collaborate with medical and scientific team members
• knowledge of bioinformatics is a significant advantage
• very good command English, spoken and written
• confident in using standard PC applications (MS Office, Outlook, SPSS)
