Lead Reliability (RAM) Engineer (m/f/d)
Engineering Jenbach, Austria
Description
As a Reliability Engineer (RAM) at INNIO, you will play a key role in ensuring the robustness, availability, and lifecycle performance of our Jenbacher gas engines and associated systems. You will identify high-risk failure modes early in the product lifecycle and work closely with design, validation, controls, and field service teams to mitigate reliability risks before they reach customers. You will partner with digital engineers to define and leverage data from INNIO’s asset management platform, myplant, to drive advanced reliability modelling and engineering decisions. You will apply physics-of-failure principles, statistical reliability methods, and field feedback to develop targeted reliability tests, assessments, and design recommendations. Your work will directly influence customer reliability outcomes and maintenance concepts, particularly for demanding applications such as data centres, CHP, grid support, and island operation.
What INNIO offers you:
- An innovative and international working environment
- Flexible working time model (depending on position and role)
- Health We Care program – including company sports activities
- Moving cost support for new employees in accordance with policy
- Good connections to public transport – station in direct proximity
- Transportation cost support in accordance with policy
- One of the best canteens in the area with healthy and various meals
- Attractive location in the heart of the Alps with various outdoor sports and leisure possibilities
Your Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute reliability strategies across the full product lifecycle, from concept and design through validation, field operation, and continuous improvement
- Perform system-level FMEA, identify and assess critical failure modes across all subsystems, and define reliability test plans based on physics of failure and customer use cases
- Analyse test and field data using statistical reliability methods (e.g. Weibull analysis, life distributions), and translate findings into actionable engineering recommendations
- Provide reliability expertise to customer projects, especially for high-availability and mission-critical applications
- Conduct reliability and maintainability modelling and prediction analyses using tools such as RBDs, Monte Carlo simulations, and SPOF analysis
Your Profile:
- M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related discipline
- At least 5 years of experience in reliability engineering or a closely related field, with expertise in failure analysis methodologies and statistical reliability methods (Weibull, Monte Carlo, accelerated life testing)
- Experience with SPOF analysis of mechanical and electrical systems, and ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, high attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset
- Ability to travel internationally without restriction (mostly US)
- Bonus: Experience in reliability modelling for mission-critical applications (e.g. data centres), strong knowledge of mechanical design and failure mechanisms for power generation equipment, and German language skills
At INNIO, we offer an attractive compensation package that is above the collective agreement for the metal industry. Your qualifications and experience will be considered in an open dialogue during the recruiting process to ensure a market-competitive compensation package.
