Responsible Sourcing Specialist - Your future role?
As a Biodiversity Manager, you will sit in the Global Sustainability Department of Givaudan under the guidance of the Global Head of Responsible Sourcing (RS) and works in close collaboration with the entire RS Team. The Biodiversity Programme is focusing on environmental aspects in our supply chains and at Givaudan sites and Joint Ventures. The Biodiversity Manager supports the implementation of the Biodiversity strategy and program globally, focusing on internal and external Biodiversity aspects and contributing to strategic projects including the Deforestation and Conversion Free (DCF) programme.
Multiple locations: Naarden (the Netherlands), Paris (France), Budapest (Hungary), Ashford (UK), Sant Celoni (Spain), Kemptthal (Switzerland), Vernier (Switzerland)
In this role your main responsibilities will be:
Lead Biodiversity and Deforestation & Conversion Free corporate strategies at global level

Support and coordinate Biodiversity activities for natural ingredients used in Fragrance, Active Beauty and Taste & Wellbeing in close collaboration with Procurement & Responsible Sourcing teams
Be the main contact on Biodiversity towards the relevant procurement teams working on Natural & Synthetic ingredients for Fragrance, Active Beauty and Taste & Wellbeing portfolio
Lead the design and implementation of DCF Roadmaps on key commodities (Palm, Cocoa, Coffee, Soy, Sugar Cane, Corn) and related action plans with internal stakeholders
Contribute to the implementation of biodiversity strategies on High Risk natural supply-chains, notably Wild supply-chains
Support on the biodiversity-related regulations (IUCN, CITES, Nagoya Protocol…)
Support regular interactions with suppliers on Biodiversity topics, in collaboration with procurement teams
Support alignment of Biodiversity activities with Responsible Sourcing strategies
Manage the biodiversity & DCF data for Naturals in all levels of the Responsible Sourcing program, and work with the relevant partners to ensure data integrity, consistency and coordinated reporting
Field projects & Biodiversity supply-chain initiatives
Participate in working groups from external and sectorial coalitions to drive biodiversity & DCF commitments on key supply-chains (traceability, risk assessment, supplier engagement, grievances management, landscape projects)
Ensure continuity and follow-up of ongoing biodiversity field projects across several natural supply chains, such as Palm supply-chain
Monitor project progress, milestones and deliverables, with internal and external partners
Support reporting and internal communication on project status and outcomes
Client support & internal expertise
Support responses to client requests related to natural ingredients sourcing and biodiversity topics
Prepare briefing materials and presentations on natural supply chains and Biodiversity & DCF initiatives
Coordinate with Fragrance & Beauty, Taste & Wellbeing Divisional Partners & Commercial teams to ensure transparency and follow-up on biodiversity topics with customers
Your professional profile includes:
University degree in Sustainability, Environmental Sciences, Agronomy or a related field
5+ years of experience in Biodiversity, Environmental Sciences, Corporate Responsibility, Responsible Sourcing, Natural Supply-chains
Knowledge of corporate procurement, complex natural supply-chains, responsible sourcing, sustainability aspects
Fluent in English
Autonomous and comfortable with matrix set-ups
Open to travel (10%)
