To strengthen our team, we are looking for support at the earliest possible date for our German branch:
Senior Risk Engineer (m/f/d)
Let‘s talk about the role:
As a Senior Risk Engineer you are far more than a technical assessor: you are the strategic hub between local expertise and global connectivity. Embedded in our dynamic German team, you operate in an international environment and, as a member of expert teams and working groups, actively shape our digital future. You have full authority over your travel activities and drive the expansion of our international leadership business. In a self-organised team you take on responsibility beyond the ordinary and help define our global standards. You work as an Account Engineer, manage your own client portfolio and decide which sites you inspect and how intensively you carry out assignments as a Field Engineer.
On a day-to-day basis, you will:
- Risk inspectionsincluding:
- Preparing inspection reports with recommendations and priorities for loss prevention.
- Calculating PML and NLE loss expectations.
- Developing and actively implementing measures for risk reduction and loss prevention.
- Independently planning the inspections required for the current and coming years.
- Flexible travel (approx. 20-40%).
- Taking on additional technical tasks or projects as needed.
- Analysing risk inspection reports from leading insurers.
- Close collaboration with Underwriting.
- Contributing to class and underwriting strategies.
- Participating in the further development of our systems and processes in close cooperation with Underwriting.
- Agile working with fixed assignment to projects/teams; flexible acceptance of cross-functional tasks.
Who are we looking for?
- Degree in engineering.
- Several years of experience in risk engineering.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, high self-motivation and decisiveness.
- Willingness to drive change, help develop new processes and test new technologies (including AI).
- Enjoy working in a team within the risk-engineering community of about 45 colleagues across Europe and be eager to be part of the exciting culture following our merger.
- Willingness to take over and manage your own client portfolio and to develop long-term loss-prevention programmes with our clients as an Account Engineer.
- Strong collaboration with Underwriting, Claims Management and external service providers; promoting knowledge transfer and facilitating decision processes.
- Readiness to take responsibility and drive your projects and special tasks forward purposefully.
- Negotiation skills and assertiveness.
- Planning and prioritising inspections with a high degree of autonomy.
- Excellent German language skills, written and spoken; confident English communication in an international context.
