Position Summary
We are looking for a Data Engineer to be responsible for supporting the digital transformation program within the R&D function. You will design, build, and maintain data pipelines and architectures that ensure data quality and accessibility for data scientists and researchers. Additionally, you will lead the application of digital tools, such as Power BI and PowerApps, to enhance efficiency and quality within NPTC Nutrition. Your collaboration with cross-functional teams will be crucial in ensuring compliance, security, and effective data management. As a Data Engineer, you will apply your information modeling and programming skills to optimize data for insightful analysis.
A Day in the Life of a Data Engineer
- Contribute to the design and maintenance of data pipelines with local and functional data owners
- Implement and monitor data quality checks to ensure accuracy and reliability
- Design data pipelines to collect, process, and store data from various sources
- Collaborate with data scientists to understand data requirements and design models
- Manage the data lifecycle and assist in variable creation and staging strategies
- Develop and apply digital tools to enhance efficiency and metric accuracy
- Work with R&D stakeholders to leverage data for business solutions
- Provide technical support and guidance on data-related issues
What will make you successful
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field
- Solid experience in data engineering, preferably in an R&D environment
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala
- Experience with data warehousing solutions like Snowflake, ETL tools, and SQL
- Familiarity with big data technologies and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
- Proficiency in Databricks, Unity Catalog, and Purview
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with minimal supervision
- Effective communication experience at various organizational levels
