Your tasks and responsibilities
- Support the creation of a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment that contributes to the intellectual, physical, social, and creative development of learners.
- Supervise students while they complete prepared tasks assigned by absent teachers.
- Help maintain positive expectations for behaviour, engagement, and respectful interaction within the classroom.
- Provide brief and relevant feedback to the regular subject teacher regarding student participation, progress, or any observations arising during lessons.
- Develop caring and respectful relationships with learners that support confidence, curiosity, and independence.
- Build positive and professional relationships with staff.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support a smooth and consistent learning experience during staff absence.
- Contribute to a positive and supportive school culture based on teamwork, flexibility, and mutual respect.
- Share relevant observations with colleagues to support student learning and wellbeing.
Your profile
- You are currently completing a degree in Secondary Education.
- Eligibility to work in Germany without employer-sponsored authorization, as the 10-hour position does not meet the requirements for a work permit application
- This includes: German citizenship, EU/EEA/Swiss citizenship, permanent residence permit, EU long-term residence permit, unrestricted residence permit with permission to work
- High proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Excellent communication skills, including effective use of IT and new technologies.
- Collaborative and flexible mindset with a positive attitude and a sense of humor.
- Organizational, ethical, and empathetic qualities that inspire trust and respect.
- Dedication to student learning, well-being, and safety.
- A belief in holistic education that goes beyond academics.
