Working hours: 1 0 hours per week , paid according to salary scale for teachers
Your tasks and responsibilities
- Create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment that supports the intellectual, physical, social, and creative development of all learners.
- Deliver lessons in accordance with plans and materials prepared by teaching colleagues, ensuring continuity of learning and effective classroom supervision.
- Support students in completing assigned tasks by providing guidance, encouragement, and clarification where needed.
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour, engagement, and mutual respect.
- Provide appropriate feedback to the regular subject teacher regarding student participation, progress, and any relevant concerns arising during lessons.
- Develop caring and respectful relationships with learners that nurture confidence, curiosity, and independence.
- Build positive relationships with staff, and parents through professional, respectful, and clear communication when required.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a smooth and consistent learning experience during staff absence.
- Liaise with learning support staff and school counsellors to meet the needs of individual learners where required.
- Contribute positively to a professional culture based on teamwork, flexibility, and mutual support.
- Share relevant observations with colleagues to support student learning and wellbeing.
Your profile
- A University degree in Secondary Education, or comparable education.
- Valid teaching license.
- Eligibility to work in Germany without employer-sponsored authorization, as the 10-hour position does not meet the requirements for a work permit application
- This includes: German citizenship, EU/EEA/Swiss citizenship, permanent residence permit, EU long-term residence permit, unrestricted residence permit with permission to work
- High proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Excellent communication skills, including effective use of IT and new technologies.
- A focus on fostering high achievement and student development.
