Application Specialist MS Proteomics

Your contribution

As an Application Specialist Mass Spectrometry Proteomics, you will play a key role in developing and optimizing automated sample preparation workflows for Tecan’s innovative solutions. You will create and validate scripts, optimize protocols, and ensure the highest quality standards in our laboratory. By sharing your expertise, you will support both internal teams and customers, providing advanced technical support and pre-sales consulting. Your work will directly contribute to the creation of technical materials and the continuous improvement of our mass spectrometry solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate automated scripts and protocols for MS sample preparation workflows on Tecan platforms.
• Create technical documentation, marketing materials, and application content; present findings through posters and presentations.
• Deliver technical presentations and training to customers and internal stakeholders, supporting pre-sales activities.
• Provide advanced technical support, including diagnosing and resolving customer issues, and occasional on-site assistance.
• Execute daily laboratory operations and test hardware/software components for new solutions.
• Monitor market trends, provide product feedback, and explore new business opportunities.
• Coordinate with project and line managers to ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery.
• Travel for customer and supplier visits, trade fairs, and congresses (10–20%).

Your background

• Master’s degree or PhD in Life Science (Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related field).
• 5+ years of experience with mass spectrometry applications, with expertise in LC/MS sample preparation.
• Strong lab working practices, analytical skills, and experience with scripting on automation platforms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities; hands-on mentality and process orientation.
• Willingness to travel and ability to interact effectively with customers and collaboration partners.
