The Department of Law at the Faculty 03, Law and Economics, of the Johannes Gutenberg University, has a vacancy for an academic staff member at Chair of Public International Law and Public Law and the Mainz International Adjudication Center (MAIAC), under the directorship of Professor Dr Andreas Kulick, LL.M. (NYU).
Your tasks:
- Coaching the Mainz team in the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Moot Court Competition
- Support of the chair holder in the research area of international law and public law in research and teaching
- Independent preparation and implementation of teaching courses
- Independent academic work and further training
Your profile:
In addition to the general requirements according to public services law, applicants must meet the recruitment requirements stipulated in § 57 of the Hochschulgesetz of Rhineland-Palatinate.
- Successfully completed scientific university degree in German law (first state exam), with above-average results (9 Points or more)
- Successfully completed German second state exam (9 Points or more) is an advantage
- Proven excellent knowledge of German law, especially public law, demonstrated by the results in the first state exam
- Study focus and interest in international law are an advantage
- Prior experience in coaching moot court teams is an advantage
- Very good knowledge of German and English
- Passion for academic research
- Commitment and the ability to work in a team
The position is paid according to EG 13 TV-L and to be filled by 10/1/2025 . The position is limited to a period of 2 years.
The position serves the purpose of academic qualification.
