The Software Test Automation Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving automated test frameworks that ensure the quality and reliability of our software products across hardware and software systems.

This position is part of the Software Quality Assurance team located in Mannheim, Germany, and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

Design and implement automated regression test cases using Robot Framework and Python, ensuring comprehensive and maintainable coverage of software functionality.
Deploy and execute automated test suites directly on production hardware systems, analyze test results, and report defects using Jira and Zephyr.
Continuously evolve and improve the test automation environment – including framework architecture, tooling, and integration into the development pipeline.
Leverage AI-assisted tools and methodologies to increase testing efficiency and identify quality risks earlier in the development lifecycle.

The essential requirements of the job include:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a comparable qualification.
Multiple years of professional experience in software test automation.
Hands-on experience with Robot Framework and Python or an similar environment.
Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and Zephyr for test management and defect tracking.
Fluent written and spoken English and German (both required).

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

Testing on physical/embedded hardware systems or hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) environments.
AI-assisted testing tools or AI-based test case generation approaches.
