Helsing is a defence AI company. Our mission is to protect our democracies. We aim to achieve technological leadership, so that open societies can continue to make sovereign decisions and control their ethical standards.

The role
As an intern, you will push the current understanding of how advances in the research community can add value to real-world applications.
You will bridge fundamental and applied research with concrete implementations for real-world problems in the defence domain.
You will propose and evaluate different methodologies to improve mission-critical systems.
You will work as part of a team to deliver high-impact products.
The day-to-day
Research relevant papers in the areas of AI (in particular Generative AI, Computer Vision, and Computer Graphics).
Conceptualise applications of state-of-the-art technologies and discuss them with the team.
Understand advantages and disadvantages of different algorithmic approaches for our product.
Derive requirements regarding software architectures and implement selected software designs.
Summarise findings in clearly understandable documents.
Contribute towards the implementation of the most promising concepts.
You should apply if you
Are currently pursuing a PhD in Generative AI, Computer Vision, or Computer Graphics.
Have experience with at least one of the listed topics: Diffusion models, 3D generative models, NeRFs, gaussian splatting,sim-to-real domain adaptation.
Proficient in Python.
Experience in developing AI/ML algorithms with a focus on synthetic data generation.
Experience with AI frameworks like PyTorch, NumPy, OpenCV.
Experience with software and infrastructure frameworks like Git and Unix.
Ability to communicate ideas clearly and work reliably and independently.

Nice to have
Published a ML/AI paper at a top-tier conference or journal (e.g., NeurIPS, CVPR, ICLR, etc.).
Experience in working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Skills in developing quick prototypes to test and iterate on new ideas.
