As a member of the Digital Systems management team within R&D Software Solutions, you will lead and develop a team of approximately 15 Product Owners, Software Architects, and Software Engineers working in agile, cross-functional Scrum teams. Together with your peers, you will drive the design, development, and delivery of multiple digital products across our sites in India and Germany.These products support banknote processing systems, cash logistics operations (inbound, outbound, and in transit), and transportation workflows, as well as monitoring and analytics solutions that help our customers improve the efficiency and security of the entire cash cycle.You are a hands-on leader who mentors talent, drives engineering excellence, initiates technology improvements, and supports the teams as a servant leader.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop Product Owners, Software Engineers, and Architects embedded in agile Scrum teams, fostering high-performing, empowered teams.• Manage team capacity, resource allocation, and project assignments.
  • Help teams in estimating and delivering to customers to meet our commitments.
  • Collaborate with other engineering leaders to continuously elevate software engineering excellence and establish best practices across the organization.
  • Contribute to the software engineering roadmap; drive and execute improvement initiatives and technology strategies beyond your direct area of responsibility.
  • Promote a culture of ownership, self-organization, end-to-end accountability, built-in quality, and security by design and default.
  • Ensure adherence to defined quality standards, testing processes, and compliance requirements.
  • Support organizational change initiatives and contribute to building a scalable, sustainable engineering culture.
  • Help to drive the change of software development in the AI era.

Required skills

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.• Hands-on experience building enterprise desktop, web, and cloud applications using Java, .NET, and various database technologies and data platforms.
  • Familiarity with on-premise infrastructure, containerization, and Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong knowledge of the whole SSDLC, CI/CD, test automation, security practices and quality assurance.
  • Proven expertise managing complex end-to-end software development projects, including sustaining engineering.
  • Experience with effort estimation, resource planning, and skill matrix development.
  • Experience with spec-driven and agentic AI-based software development workflows.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on scalability, robustness, and performance optimization.
  • Ability to manage complex team dynamics and maintain high levels of engagement.
  • Experience working in Agile environments and partnering with Scrum Masters and development teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in an intercultural setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive organizational change and cultivate a high-performance culture.
  • Strong people-leadership skills with a coaching mindset and the ability to act as a trusted partner.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English
