What you do
- You report to the CTO and lead multiple software engineering teams in an Agile Product Development setup based on Scrum
- You own and shape the technology platform enabling the commercialization of BESS assets across European energy markets, working closely with our Trading team
- You take accountability for our technical solution from the edge to the cloud, including interfaces - ensuring high standards in reliability, performance, and observability
- You balance priorities amongst Technical Excellence, IT Security & Compliance and Product & Business Performance
- You manage stakeholders (e.g. top level Management, Product Management, Operation Teams, Partners as well as Customers) in close collaboration with the POs
- You own strategic execution, technical goal setting, compliance and performance in your department
- You support your reports as a servant leader and remove impediments in their daily work
- You empower your team to utilize strengths across all levels
- You foster a culture of continuous learning and growth
Who you are
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, develop and guide engineering teams while acting as a trusted sparring partner to the CTO.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across Technology, Product, Trading, Operations, Security & Compliance, and Executive Management.
- Proven experience leading software engineering organizations, ideally within the Energy industry or other regulated environments.
- Experience building and scaling distributed software engineering teams with a KPI- and outcome-driven mindset.
- Strong technical expertise in cloud-native platforms, distributed systems, APIs, and modern software engineering practices.
- Experience working in Agile Product Development environments, collaborating closely with Product Owners and cross-functional teams.
- Solid understanding of IT Security, Compliance, Reliability, and Observability to ensure secure and resilient technology platforms.
- Strategic and business-oriented mindset, with the ability to translate business goals into technology execution. Experience in BESS or energ y trading is a plus.
- Servant leadership mindset with strong coaching, conflict resolution, and team-building skills, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
