Join us as a

PhD Student - System/OS Security (m/f/d)

Your mission

• Investigate and conduct cutting-edge research in areas such as access control, privilege management, operating system security, and system security, including hardware-based security mechanisms for CPUs, GPUs, and specialized accelerators.

• Identify and formalize challenges and deficiencies of state-of-the-art approaches.

• Design, develop and optimize Proof of Concepts and support their integration into Huawei’s products.

• Work closely with domain experts, renowned professors and talented students, and deliver research results, publishing at top conferences.

• Conduct collaborations with research institutions and universities.

Your areas of expertise

• You have recently completed or will soon complete your master’s studies in computer science, computer engineering, AI security, cybersecurity, or related area.

• Deep understanding and experience in at least one security area such as access control, OS security, system security, code analysis, cryptography, etc.

• Good knowledge on operating systems and the inner workings of a kernel, alongside experience with Linux, macOS, HarmonyOS, iOS or Android.

• Alternatively, knowledge on computer architecture and security aspects of computing solutions, e.g. memory protection, secure RDMA, microarchitectural attacks, etc.

• Solid experience in C or C++, Rust is a nice-to-have.

• Team-work spirit, the capability to learn quickly and independently as well as a hands-on, can-do attitude.

• Fluent in written and spoken English.
