What you do
- Developing and backtesting algorithmic bidding strategies for Day-Ahead, Intraday and reserve markets (FCR, aFRR, mFRR)
- Building and improving quantitative models for asset dispatch, price forecasting, SoC
- optimisation and cross-market arbitrage
- Analysing market data to identify regime shifts, pricing inefficiencies and new revenue
- opportunities
- Working closely with traders to translate model output into live strategy adjustments
- Pushing the quality of our research process - from data pipelines and feature engineering to strategy evaluation frameworks
Who you are
- A strong quantitative background - whether from energy trading, finance, engineering, mathematics, physics or a related field
- Solid Python skills: you build production-ready code, not just notebooks
- Experience in time-series analysis, statistical modelling and backtesting - you know how to avoid overfitting and how to evaluate strategy robustness
- An understanding of energy market dynamics is a strong plus; what matters most is the ability to learn them fast and think in market structures
- Clear analytical thinking and genuine curiosity - you ask "why does this model work?” not just "does it work?”
- Fluent English, German is a plus
