Our team is responsible for validating the RF performance of top-notch, monolithic cellular transceivers. We are looking for a motivated RF engineer with strong programming skills to join our PLL validation efforts. This is a hands-on role where you will verify that our new silicon designs meet specifications, utilizing modern software tools to maximize efficiency. Description
As an RF PLL Silicon Validation Engineer, you will own the bring-up and characterization of frequency generation subsystems in market-leading transceivers. Your work style is collaborative and proactive, driving technical solutions across interdisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
- Defining validation strategies, executing complex measurements, and analyzing performance against specifications
- Architecting efficient validations solutions, by leveraging modern programming practices—including LLM-assisted coding
- Developing scalable automation frameworks and data analysis tools.
- Reporting technical results clearly and in a cross functional team to debug hardware and software issues, ensuring the highest quality for Apple’s wireless products.
Minimum Qualifications
- Proficiency in Python programming. Experience using modern AI-coding assistants to generate scripts, debug logic, and optimize code is a major plus.
- Hands-on experience with standard lab equipment (Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Power Supplies) and board-level troubleshooting.
- Ability to process and analyze data using libraries like NumPy, Pandas, or Matplotlib.
Preferred Qualifications
- Solid foundation in RF and mixed-signal theory, particularly regarding PLLs, LNAs, Mixers, and oscillators.
- Familiarity with RF measurement concepts such as Phase Noise, Harmonics, IP3, and Noise Figure.
- Understanding of cellular standards (5G NR, LTE)
- Master’s or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with a focus on RF/Analog circuits or Signal Processing.
