Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 7 years of experience with full stack development, across back-end such as Java, Python, GO, or C++ codebases, and front-end experience including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent.
  
• 5 years of experience with design and architecture; and testing/launching software products.
• Experience building developer-facing products or tools.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
• 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.

As a Technical Lead in CodeAI, you will lead novel solutions to make Googlers more productive across the SDLC. You will work across our highest priorities: building agents across the full SDLC, closing loops on self improvement, devising agentic infrastructure and systems as well as delivering on our new and existing product suite's AI transformation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical strategy and roadmap for developer-facing AI agents, balancing rapid prototyping with reliable production delivery across the full software development lifecycle.
• Design, build, and optimize scalable, low-latency agentic infrastructure and evaluation harnesses integrated within large-scale distributed systems and internal developer environments.
• Navigate the full stack, from client runtimes and IDE internals to backend microservices, to deliver high-concurrency developer tools and AI-native platform transformations.
• Develop continuous feedback loops, autonomous self-improvement mechanisms, and evaluation frameworks to systematically enhance model quality, accuracy, and performance over time.
• Guide and unblock engineers across ambiguous problem spaces, advocating system reliability, performance benchmarking, and intuitive developer experience across all deliverables.
