YOUR TASKS

• As Team Lead, you are responsible for the technical and disciplinary leadership of our Machine Learning Engineering team
• You work hands-on in a cross-functional team to develop and deploy innovative data and AI products using classical machine learning methods and generative AI (GenAI)
• Collaborate with your team to ensure the smooth operation of our AI systems, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues related to quality, scalability, performance, and security
• You will establish and promote modern MLOps practices to ensure the stable, scalable and secure operation of our AI systems on GCP. This will involve proactively evaluating and integrating new technologies, while staying up to date with the latest technological developments
• You care for the personal and professional development of eight team members
• You work closely with Data Scientists, Product and Business Stakeholders, as well as Tech Teams, and you accompany the entire lifecycle of ML/GenAI models, from conception to deployment, monitoring, and optimization

YOUR PROFILE

• You have several years of professional experience in the development and operationalization of data and AI products, ideally with practical know-how in the field of GenAI
• You have exceptional knowledge of Python, particularly in relation to data analysis, data engineering and ML model development. You are also familiar with clean code principles, software architecture patterns and modern development processes
• You have in-depth, hands-on experience of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and its associated services, such as Vertex AI, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions and GKE. You have in-depth knowledge of, and practical experience in, MLOps and CI/CD, as well as experience using tools such as Terraform and dbt
• You have a thorough understanding of the entire life cycle of machine learning models, from experimentation and training to deployment, monitoring and retraining strategies, and can implement them efficiently
• You have the ability and proven experience to lead and mentor a team, motivate employees, and promote a collaborative working style
• Strong analytical skills, a structured way of working and a proactive approach to solving complex problems characterize you
• Very good communication skills and fluency in English and ideally German round off your profile
