Your new role:
Lead and develop a high-performing marketing organisation for the Germany, Switzerland, Austria (GSA) region to strengthen brand leadership, drive market share, and maximise revenue across the full Discovery Global ecosystem (networks and streaming). Deliver locally relevant, insight-led marketing that increases funnel efficiency, accelerates digital and social execution, and enables Discovery Global to be an industry leader in the GSA market.
Your Role Accountabilities:
Regional Marketing Strategy & Integrated Planning
Own and define breakthrough marketing standards and the strategy for GSA, ensuring alignment with global and regional priorities
Direct the development and execution of consolidated, integrated lifecycle marketing plans that build brand equity and drive consumer engagement across all relevant touchpoints
Create marketing strategies that support Discovery Global networks’ content and ad sales business to become a best in class FTA general entertainment network in GSA, with a particular focus on transforming digital and social strategy and execution
Brand, Campaigns & Go-to-Market
Deliver impactful, locally relevant campaigns for TV and streaming that build audience growth and brand affinity
Lead go-to-market planning and execution for product/service launches in GSA, including creative development, campaign delivery, and content marketing
Drive long-term marketing planning for key franchises and products, adapting global direction to local market dynamics and audience needs
Insights, Research & Strategic Decision Support
Own the regional insights and research agenda to answer key strategic questions across content and marketing, including creative evaluation/testing, messaging/positioning validation, market sizing, and segmentation
Ensure insights are translated into clear recommendations that improve strategic choices and campaign effectiveness
Budget Ownership, Reporting & Performance Stewardship
Own the regional marketing budget, including planning, forecasting, and controlling; proactively steer allocations in line with business priorities and special projects
Maintain regular communication with key business partners to factor in any changes in financial planning in relation to business goals and special projects
Ensure clear, efficient reporting to regional and global stakeholders, continuously improving processes and reporting effectiveness
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
As a senior member of the GSA management team, contribute to budgeting, target- and objective-setting, long-term planning, and the growth of revenues and margins across lines of business
Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team of marketers and media planners; foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
Collaborate closely with PR & Communications and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging and maximise campaign impact; represent the GSA marketing function in company and industry initiatives
Partner with PR & Communications to align the long-range press strategy and the public-facing profile of group-marketing-managed brands and titles
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Marketing, Business, or related field
Extensive progressive experience in marketing, strategic planning, and creative services (ideally within media & entertainment)
Demonstrated success in developing and implementing marketing strategies and campaigns for premium brands
Experience managing multi-channel marketing (digital, social, media, partnerships, etc.)
Strong project management skills; ability to manage multiple initiatives and deadlines
Proven people leadership across multi-disciplinary teams and senior stakeholders
Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills
Strong analytical and financial acumen, including budget ownership
Innovative mindset; ability to adapt in a dynamic market environment.
Fluency in German and English required, additional languages a plus.
