ISR is accredited by the German authorities as an ‘Anerkannte Internationale Ergänzungsschule’ (International Supplementary School) and by the US accrediting agency Cognia (formerly known as AdvancED). ISR is an IB World School authorized to offer the IB Diploma Programme, and also offers Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) IGCSE courses. We wish to hire a dedicated and qualified IGCSE & IB DP French Teacher (m/f/d) to join our dynamic educational institution.
The teacher will be expected to create and deliver engaging lessons that captivate students' interest and foster a deep understanding of the core concepts. This encompasses not only conveying theoretical knowledge but also applying innovative teaching methodologies to cultivate critical thinking skills and real-world applicability.
- Ensure high-quality delivery of teaching and learning experiences aligned with the Secondary School Languages, IGCSE and IB French curriculum.
- Design and implement effective assessments that align with IB standards and accurately measure student understanding of a range of concepts covered within the selected IB pathway.
- Stay abreast of the latest developments and best practices in the field of IGCSE and IB French education, maintaining an up-to-date knowledge base.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support their learning and academic growth.
- Monitor and enhance student progress, welfare, and academic outcomes within the realm of French.
- Take a proactive role in implementing school policies, with a specific focus on safeguarding and promoting equal opportunities for all students.
- Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the development and improvement of the French curriculum.
- Possession of a recognized teaching qualification such as PGCE, PGDip, BA, MA, MBA, Qualified Teacher Status, or an equivalent teaching credential, along with documentation of ongoing professional development.
- Proven experience in teaching French at the IGCSE and IB Diploma levels, as well as DELF A1 to B2.
- Familiarity with assessment practices related to IB and IGCSE frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate technology and innovative teaching methods into the French curriculum.
- Collaborative mindset, showcasing the ability to work effectively with colleagues and contribute to a cohesive department.
- Evidence of involvement in extracurricular activities, such as student clubs or academic competitions, related to French.
The position of 'French Subject Co-ordinator' may be available for a suitably qualified candidate.
