Around 80 percent of all microchips worldwide are produced using ZEISS technologies. Your Role

You will be part of a team that develops and optimizes system architectures. You may work on projects involving the modeling and simulation of fluid-dynamical systems in dilute regimes. In these projects, statistical particle-based methods are used to directly simulate interactions between atoms and molecules.

  • System Modeling: You will build simulation models that represent components of our systems to assess and improve their performance.
  • Simulation: You will conduct detailed simulations where the atomic nature of the flow is relevant, and therefore the Navier–Stokes equations are no longer valid.
  • Evaluation: You will evaluate the obtained simulations, refine and extend your simulations, and contribute your results to further develop our systems and methods.

Your Profile

  • Studies in physics, chemistry, mechanical engineering, simulation technology, or a comparable field with excellent academic results
  • Knowledge of modeling atoms and molecules and their interactions with each other and with other structures
  • Knowledge of fluid mechanics and modeling it in the continuum, transitional, and free-molecular regimes
  • Advantageous ability to perform multiphase 2D/3D CFD simulations (e.g., CFX, Fluent, Star-CCM+)
  • Analytical, creative, reflective, and autonomous work style, and an interest in working as part of a team to develop innovative solutions
  • Good German and English language skills (speaking and writing)
