About the role:
As an Expert Engineering, you will be responsible for the development and design of secondary and tertiary packaging components for combination products. Your duties will include authoring design verification documents, planning and conducting verification activities, and preparing detailed reports on the results. Additionally, you will serve as the primary contact for secondary packaging development within the combination products project team and provide support for regulatory submissions.

About the Role

Key responsibilities:

  • Own and run packaging design for secondary & tertiary packaging activities (incl. labelling) in global cross functional teams to launch new products and redesign on market products.
  • Support packaging design projects for technology platforms and manage collaboration with involved functions to ensure successful outcome.
  • Support definition of secondary & tertiary packaging technology, labelling strategy and roadmap.
  • Responsible for design and deployment of standards in materials, formats, and processes.
  • Ensure state-of-the-art technical design solutions (incl. feasibility studies, visualizations, and prototypes) for commercial, secondary & tertiary packaging and labelling by target-oriented management of internal & external resources (agencies, packaging & machine suppliers, Novartis sites).
  • Support development activities including to technology landscaping and change control.
  • Disseminate knowledge & awareness of packaging technology within wider organization and contribute to publications, presentations, and patents.
  • Drive preparation of the function related documents (sections) for registration of medical device/combination products and provide input to health authority questions.

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Material Science, Engineering or related field with 3+ years of experience in packaging development preferably in the pharmaceuticals or medical device industry or Master degree in Material Science, Engineering or related field with previous knowledge in packaging development.
  • Excellent communication skills, team player and curious mindset.
  • Ability to think innovatively to find solutions to unmet customer needs.
  • Fluent English.

In accordance with Austrian law, we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary as stated in the collective bargaining agreement. For this position the minimum salary is € 59,781.96 a year (on a full-time basis). The actual salary will be significantly higher, as we strive to maintain a competitive position in the market and consider your previous experience, qualifications and individual competencies.
