Aircraft Subsystems Engineer - Fluidics
Olten area, Switzerland · Full-time · Mid-level
We’re recruiting on behalf of an aerospace engineering and prototyping company seeking an Aircraft Subsystems Engineer to develop fluid systems for experimental aircraft and uncrewed platforms. You’ll take responsibility for systems such as hydraulics, fuel and cooling, from requirements and architecture through detailed design, prototype integration and testing.
What you’ll do
Define subsystem requirements and architectures, compare design options and assess potential failure modes.
Design and model fluid systems, select components, define interfaces and design custom hardware where needed.
Plan verification and validation activities, including what to measure and how to measure it.
Work with suppliers to source subsystems and components.
Lead the integration design for ground test rigs and prototype aircraft.
Document architectures and designs for technical reviews and work with the Lead Engineer to prepare customer presentations.
What you’ll bring
A bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering or a related technical discipline.
At least five years of professional engineering experience.
Experience in aircraft subsystem design, analysis, simulation, integration and testing.
Experience analysing subsystem failure modes and conducting architecture trade studies.
The ability to work independently for much of the time.
Experience with one or more aircraft fluid systems, such as fuel, lubrication, hydraulics or cooling, is desirable. Experience with electric aircraft, drones or other unconventional aircraft, and familiarity with requirements management, are also welcome.
Work eligibility
Must be Swiss citizen, or citizen of an EU/EFTA country, or otherwise already be eligible to work in Switzerland.
What’s on offer
You’ll join a specialist engineering team working across a range of prototype aircraft projects, with the opportunity to see your designs progress from initial requirements to ground testing and aircraft integration.
To apply, submit your CV and highlight the aircraft subsystems you’ve worked on and your role in their design, integration or testing.
