Responsibilities
Person in this role will lead and oversee the accounting department. Responsibilities include preparing the respective US GAAP reporting packages for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, as well as local statutory financial statements, supplemented by additional reports for management analysis and external reporting.
The position involves analyzing financial reports and documents, as well as providing recommendations on accounting principles and related processes. Additionally, the role includes reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements for accuracy.
The role supports the development of processes and procedures for capturing and documenting company policies, particularly in connection with accounting standards. It also advises management on matters of financial reporting, internal controls, and performance monitoring and development.
Another key component of the role is coordinating, liaising, and working closely with external auditors for both US GAAP-based audits and local statutory financial statement audits.
- Leading a team to achieve the department’s operational goals.
- Providing ongoing support to team members in accounting and related internal departments.
- Ensuring the accurate recording, analysis, and reporting of accounting and revenue figures.
- Overseeing the preparation of accounting data to support organizational and business decisions.
- Participating in the development, implementation, and maintenance of accounting systems, processes, and policies.
- Overseeing monthly closings, including ensuring accurate and timely results.
- Preparing and performing quality assurance on monthly, quarterly, and annual US GAAP reporting packages.
- Responsibility for preparing financial statements in accordance with local commercial law.
- Coordinating and actively supporting external auditors (US GAAP and local), including reconciliation, documentation, and clarification of technical issues.
- Conducting variance analyses, prior-period comparisons, and ad hoc evaluations.
- Responsibility for preparing various financial reports, analyses, and management reports.
- Handling escalated inquiries and issues in the accounting department.
- Recommending and implementing improvements to accounting and financial reporting processes as well as guidelines.
- Defining, aligning, and monitoring relevant KPIs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required.
- Typically has 6-8 years of experience in Accounting and typically 0-2 years leadership experience.
- Fluent business English skills (Written and spoken).
