The Technical Write r (f/m/d) is responsible for writing and updating user manuals, help pages, release notes and many other user-facing technical documents.

This position reports to the Director R&D. It is part of the R&D department located in Salzburg and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Write and update English-language content to support installation, usage, and maintenance of our life sciences laboratory instruments and software.

• Create single-source content using the MadCap Flare authoring tool to produce deliverables in various print and online formats, including HTML5, CHM, and PDF.

• Adhere to file version control policies to ensure appropriate back-up and archival of drafts in progress and published documentation as well as associated edits and approvals.

• Proactively gather documentation requirements from project teams and stakeholders.

• Attend Team Meetings and Standups to represent documentation, report progress, and gather information.

• Seek and incorporate feedback on drafts.

• Attend product training sessions as needed.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, or a related discipline (or a combination of a Bachelor’s degree in science and writing experience).

• At least 5 years of experience as a technical writer creating content for hardware and software products, preferably in the life sciences industry.

• English native speaker or highly proficient

• Excellent writing, editing, and communications skills; strong attention to detail.

• Proficient in MadCap Flare or similar single-source authoring tool. Experience with HTML and CSS is beneficial.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Adobe Creative Suite (including InDesign, Illustrator, PhotoShop), SolidWorks, Bitbucket/SourceTree, Jira, FrameMaker.

For this position, the collective agreement for the electrical and electronics industry applies; the minimum monthly gross salary is € 3,775.27 (based on full-time employment), with willingness to pay more depending on qualifications and experience.
