Management | Full-Time | Project Portfolio Management
Join us as an Installation Project Manager and take ownership of the full installation phase for onshore wind projects across Northern & Central Europe. You’ll lead planning, coordination, and on‑site alignment to ensure the installation phase is delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Working closely with cross‑functional teams, you’ll drive operational excellence, optimise processes, and support continuous improvement throughout the installation workflow.
Region NCE and Global Offshore >, NCE > NCE Onshore CPX Site Supervision
The department is an integral part of the Installation Project Management team within CPX NCE, responsible for driving operational excellence across onshore installation projects. The role ensures that project teams are equipped to meet both the commercial and technical targets agreed with customers while strengthening process efficiency, supporting continuous improvement, and enabling successful project execution.
Working closely with cross‑functional stakeholders across CPX, Installation & Commissioning (I&C), and Performance Management, the specialist identifies improvement opportunities, implements effective solutions, and ensures their long‑term impact is measured and sustained. By promoting structured learning, operational discipline, and strong collaboration, the team significantly contributes to elevating performance across customer projects in Northern & Central Europe.
Responsibilities
- Own the full preparation of the installation phase — safe, on time, on budget, right quality — through to a clean handover to the Site Manager. Act as the on site customer contact during the preparation phase, advising on project requirements while maintaining high customer satisfaction.
- Verify during the preparation phase that site infrastructure (hardstands, internal roads) is built to Vestas' standards and agreed project specs; serve as the customer's point of contact for any infrastructure deviation request
- Coordinate all installation suppliers, main and support cranes, installation teams, transport, HSE, site facilities, and security aligning resource and schedule constraints across projects
- Track and mitigate installation risks ahead of execution; maintain sharp, timely reporting on schedules, budgets, and project performance
- Apply Vestas' Construction Project Execution standards rigorously across all projects
- Support the testing, rollout, and implementation of new installation concepts, optimization initiatives, and prototype projects
- Coordinate resource planning in alignment with contractual requirements and cross-functional stakeholder needs
Qualifications
- Ideally, you’ll have both on-site installation experience and project management skills but if you bring one and the motivation to develop the other, we’d still like to hear from you.
- Background in the energy industry, crane/transport sector, or civil engineering, with real accountability for project outcomes
- On-site understanding of crane operations, site logistics, and installation workflows
- Sound knowledge of HSE requirements and how to apply them in complex field environments
- Experience navigating supplier contracts and commercial negotiations
- Solid financial awareness and process discipline
- Proficient in MS Office and SAP, skills in Autocad are a plus
- Fluent in English and German
Competencies
- Safety-first and customer-focused without compromise, across every activity
- Transparent, decisive, and steady in critical moments; you follow through and take responsibility for results
- Organized planner who adjusts quickly and effectively when situations change
- Clear, professional communicator who builds trust and manages expectations at all stakeholder levels
- Detail-oriented and results-driven, with effective time management across multiple concurrent projects
- Forward-thinking and attentive to potential issues, you anticipate problems before they become risks
