Besides marketing industrial sensors for laser power metering and for assessing insulation properties of buildings, we also offer a unique core body temperature measurement solution (CALERA®) for wearable devices. The company develops, manufactures, and markets all solutions at our headquarters in Zürich-Rümlang.
We are looking for a hands-on intern to support our production team in sensor manufacturing and post-processing operations. The position combines machine operation, manual assembly, measurements, and chemical cleaning processes in an industrial environment.
The internship offers a strong practical exposure to manufacturing processes, quality assurance, and controlled chemical handling procedures.
Location: Rümlang, ZH.
Workload: 100%.
Starting date: April 2026.
Tasks
The intern will support daily production of microsensors through a combination of machine operation, manual assembly, measurement and laboratory cleaning processes. The role focuses on executing standardized procedures while ensuring product quality and traceability of sensors through a combination of machine operation, manual assembly, measurement and laboratory cleaning processes.
Main activity areas:
- Production operations: preparation and setup of production panels, operation of assembly equipment and soldering processes, in-process electrical/functional checks, and traceability documentation across multiple manufacturing steps.
- Soldering processes: execution of multi-stage soldering cycles including manual and reflow operations.
- Process monitoring: electrical measurements and validation at defined checkpoints, handling of PCB panels, and reporting of detected deviations.
- Cleaning & recovery: component removal, multi-step cleaning, rinsing, and controlled drying to prepare parts for reintegration into the workflow.
- Quality & safety: anomaly detection and reporting, documentation of results, and compliance with safety and PPE procedures.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- A student or recent graduate in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical field.
- Any experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
Specific Skills & Competencies
- Structured, reliable, and proactive approach to work.
- High accuracy and sense of responsibility, hands-on mindset.
- Good problem-solving skills and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work closely with the production team.
- Languages: English C1, German or any language is a plus.
