Über diesen Job
Are you an engineer who wants to make buildings come alive?
We are ZSR, a Zurich-based startup developing Solskin—a climate-adaptive solar facade. Solskin isn’t just a PV system; it’s an intelligent skin that uses AI and weather data to optimize energy and comfort. We have moved beyond the lab and are currently installing our technology on buildings across Switzerland and abroad. We are looking for a hands-on engineer to help us bridge the gap between a technical challenge and a real-world solution.
Tasks
Full-Cycle Prototyping: Drive the development of new modules using rapid manufacturing (3D printing, laser cutting). You will take a project from a CAD model to a physical reality.
Systems Integration: Take ownership of specific mechatronic projects. This includes everything from design in Fusion360 to assembling and programming control units for independent operation.
Iterative Validation: We iterate fast. You will take a task from the problem stage through to execution, testing it in real-world conditions to ensure it is ready for customer sites.
Multidisciplinary Support: Work as a technical peer with our R&D and Production team, contributing to mechanical, software, and structural improvements.
Documentation: Ensure our systems are long-lasting by documenting design changes and technical modifications.
Requirements
- Education: Currently enrolled in or recently finished a degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering.
- Technical Skills: You are proficient in Fusion360 and Python. Experience with C++ or microcontrollers is a significant advantage.
- Hands-on Mindset: You enjoy the "problem-to-prototype" cycle. You are someone who finds solutions by building, testing, and refining until it works.
- Languages: Professional proficiency in German and English is required.Availability: 100% for 6 months (Compensation: CHF 3,000 gross/month).
Benefits
Impact: You will see the tangible results of your work as Solskin is installed on buildings. You are a key player in shaping how we do things.
Culture: We have an open-door policy and a focus on responsibility and mutual trust. We are a down-to-earth team that supports each other.
Flexibility: We offer great flexibility for your workhours. We care about the work getting done, not the hours spent at a desk.
Team: You’ll work with a skilled, high-achieving, and fun team. We have strong team bonding and a shared goal of getting Solskin to the market. The Reality: We are a startup. It can be messy, but you’ll have a lot of freedom and responsibility from day one.
If this resonates with you and you feel that you might fit the role, please apply and let us know why you believe that we need you. In that case, we would love to meet you.
