This position works closely with the Executive Director to drive the mission of 825 Arts, live the values of the organization and to partner with the Executive Director as a builder – seeing a need and building out the system, process and protocols to make it happen. The Associate Executive Director recognizes and cultivates the potential of other staff as well as throughout the 825 Arts Organization.
Success in this position will be measured by the overall cohesiveness of 825 Arts at an organizational level: internal communication, organization, program and partnership structure.

Position: Associate Executive Director
Compensation: $55,000/year
Work Location: In-person position - 825 Arts facility on University Ave., St Paul, MN.
Direct Reports: Community Engagement Director and Communications Manager
KEY RESULT AREAS:
The primary accountabilities for the position include:
1. To support the design, development and implementation of Programs and Partnerships 30%
In conjunction with the Executive Director, Community Engagement Manager and Facilities and Operations Director, develop plans for all Programs and Partnerships.
2. Volunteer Program Management and Development 20%
Develop a strategy with the Marketing and Communications Director as well as the Facilities and Operations Director to source, recruit, onboard and retain volunteers and interns throughout the organization.
3. Human Resources Support 15%
Paid time off tracking, tracking and administering employee benefits (such as: Professional Development, Employee Emergency Fund, Employee Wellness Fund) in conjunction with CFO, new employee onboarding, handbook updates and communication, holding the HR calendar, processing and submitting payroll
4. Fundraising and Donor Recognition 10%
In partnership with the Relationship Manager, ensure accurate and timely entry, tracking and recognition of all individual donations
5. Finance 10%
In conjunction with the CFO and Executive Director, support accounts payable and accounts receivable, contractor management, required reporting to both Federal and State agencies.
6. Board and Committee Liaison
Collecting board, staff and committee reports, sending reminders, communications and meeting recaps
7. Timely and Accurate Filing of All Essential Documents 5%
Partnering with Facilities and Operations Director and CFO to ensure all organizational documentation is up-to-date and on-file, annual reports and renewals with the city and state, all licenses are kept up to date.
All other responsibilities at the discretion of the Executive Director.
Desired Education and Experience
5+ years success in a leadership role, ideally in a non-profit, with the arts or social justice
5+ years’ experience managing and developing a team of up to seven (7) specialists
Strongly prefer those who are current, accomplished artists
Demonstrated track record of collaborating with a team on complex projects
High level of skill in CRMs, Google Suite, Monday, and a variety of other technical platforms
Bachelor's degree in non-profit management is ideal. Business or social science degrees when combined with complimentary experience may be considered. Demonstrated experience in similar roles may substitute for a degree.

Ability to regularly work a flexible schedule including some nights and weekends.
Ideally, a demonstrated connection to the Frogtown and Rondo communities of Saint Paul
