Position: On-call Youth Advocate
Schedule: On-call, as-needed (days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays as available)
Salary: $22-$25 hourly, commensurate with experience
Benefits: This on-call position includes required Minnesota employment benefits. Due to the nature of the role, additional benefits are not offered.

ORGANIZATION: Corrie’s House is a values-driven residential program committed to safety, dignity, and empowerment for youth, ages 12-17, who are at risk or have experienced sexual exploitation. On-Call Youth Advocates play a vital role in ensuring continuity of care and consistent support for the young people we serve.
SUMMARY: The On-Call Youth Advocate provides flexible, as-needed coverage to support youth living at Corrie’s House during staffing gaps, call-offs, or increased program needs. This role is critical to maintaining a safe, stable, and supportive environment for youth to ensure their voices are heard, their rights are protected, and their individual needs are addressed through personal care and resources.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct care, supervision, and emotional support to youth in a trauma-informed, youth-centered manner
Ensure the safety and well-being of youth and the home during assigned shifts
Support daily routines, maintain the daily routine, supervise chores, assist in meal planning and preparation, assist with light cleaning and other household tasks as indicated.
Respond calmly and appropriately to crises, de-escalating situations when needed
Complete required shift notes and documentation accurately and on time
Maintain professional boundaries and follow all Corrie’s House policies, DHS licensing requirements, and confidentiality standards
Provide services applying strengths-based, Positive Youth Development, harm reduction and person-centered approaches
Engage youth in positive peer relations, group building, recreational and leisure time activities and outings.
Qualifications
Experience working with youth in residential, shelter, or community-based settings preferred
Understanding of trauma-informed care, harm-reduction, and strengths-based approaches
Ability to remain calm, flexible, and reliable in dynamic situations
Strong communication and documentation skills
Ability to pass required background checks and complete mandatory training
Develop and implement support groups and group activities with input from youth, Corrie’s House team members, and community partners.
Utilize personal vehicle in good working order, to transport youths to appointments as indicated.
Maintain confidentiality of all youth information
Participate in training and professional development sufficient for the provision of best practice services for youth who have been sexually exploited.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in human services related field or equivalent combination of education and direct experience serving at risk youth
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience working with at-risk youth to reach their goals
Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: sexual exploitation, mental health, chemical dependency, at-risk youth issues
Knowledge of and ability to work effectively with youth with a variety of identities, cultures, and backgrounds including ethnic/racial minorities and LGBTQ youth
Must be able to pass a criminal and Department of Human Services background check
Candidate must be 21 years of age or older
REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid Minnesota Driver’s License and proof of auto insurance
