The Opportunity
We are looking for an conscientious Laboratory Worker to join our highly energetic and ambitious team. Microcaps owns a patented microencapsulation technology and is currently on improving its ethanol free perfume production process. We are working in partnership with some of the most prestigious names in the industry and we are already looking to expand capacity beyond our stage 1 footprint. Beyond Fine Fragrance we are also working on projects in the cosmetics, food and pharmaceutical markets.
The Impact
Our customers’ success is closely tied to the quality of our capsule formulations, making the Formulations Team a key driver of innovation at Microcaps. As Laboratory Worker, you will play an important role in ensuring the lab runs efficiently, supporting both daily operations and development projects that range from proof of concept to large-scale production. Your work will provide the foundation for our scientists to focus on advancing technology and delivering value to customers.
Tasks
- Ensure the lab is well-organized and operational (general tidiness, handling of glassware and equipment, waste disposal)
- Manage and replenish laboratory supplies (consumables, solvents, and raw materials)
- Receive and check incoming materials and maintain straightforward inventory records
- Support ongoing experiments with practical analytical tasks and solution preparation
- Communicate effectively and collaborate within the team in line with Microcaps’ values
Depending on your background and performance, you will also have the opportunity to take on more advanced laboratory tasks and responsibilities over time.
Requirements
- You are studying or have a background in chemistry, food technology, material sciences, analytical sciences, bioscience engineering or similar discipline
- You are excited about gaining experience in working in a wet laboratory environment
- You approach routine duties with consistency and quality in mind
- You enjoy delivering accurate and timely work
- You possess a work permit for Switzerland and are fluent in English (compulsory) and German (preferred)
- You are a team player and excited to work in a rapidly growing process technology company
