About BERGER
The Berger Group is a world-leading manufacturer of textile seatbelts for the automotive industry. Our products stand for the highest quality, safety, and reliability and are utilized by renowned OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers.
To strengthen our Development Department, we are looking for a Textile Engineer or Textile Technologist (m/f/d) to join us at the earliest possible date. This position is a parental leave replacement, initially limited to a fixed term of 36 months.

Your Profile
- Education: Completed training as a Certified Textile Technician or a degree in Textile Engineering , Textile Technology, or a comparable qualification.
- Technical Expertise: Sound knowledge of weaving technology , ideally in the field of technical textiles .
- Industry Experience: Experience in the automotive industry and knowledge of IATF 16949 is an advantage.
- Material Science: Experience with textile materials such as polyamide, polyester, or high-performance fibers is desirable.
- Methodology: A structured, analytical, and solution-oriented approach to work.
- Soft Skills: A reliable team player with strong communication skills .
- Languages: Proficiency in German and English (both written and spoken).
- IT & Tools: Proficient in MS Office ; experience with technical drawings or testing methods is a plus.
Areas of Responsibility
- Product Development: Development, further advancement, and optimization of textile seatbelt webbings.
- Project Management: Technical oversight of new projects from the conceptual phase through to series production readiness ( SOP ).
- Design & Approval: Design, evaluation, and approval of fabrics regarding mechanical, functional, and aesthetic requirements.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Close cooperation with production, quality management, purchasing, and sales.
- Industrialization: Supporting the industrialization of new materials, yarns, and weaving constructions.
- Testing & Analysis: Planning, conducting, and evaluating trials, tests, and technical analyses.
- Customer & Technical Support: Participation in customer meetings, technical coordination, and complaint analyses.
- Documentation: Creation and maintenance of technical documentation, specifications, and development reports.
This position is initially limited to 36 months due to parental leave cover in accordance with Section 14 Paragraph 1 of the Part-Time and Fixed-Term Employment Act (TzBfG).
Depending on the candidate's personal and professional qualifications and the company's situation, there is the possibility of being offered a permanent position.
