Fort Valley State University, the only 1890 land-grant university in Georgia, is a comprehensive institution that provides an education to over 2,800 students including graduate students. The university is located in the town of Fort Valley in Peach County, the original site of the state's peach industry. Its 1,365-acre (5.52 km2) campus is Georgia's second-largest public university in area.

JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the recruitment and admission of future students to the University through in-person and virtual presentations, community events, telephone and e-mail communication. ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:-
Attend in-person and virtual recruitment events to represent the university in Georgia as well as parts of the Southeast and other areas across the US. Nurture relationships, through various communication channels, with students, parents, high school counselors, teachers, and administrators providing admissions advice and counsel relative to the recruitment and admissions processes. Execute email and phone call campaigns to follow up with prospective students Build, manage and maintain a designated recruitment territory and strategic plan with the Executive Director of Admissions and Recruitment. Evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment strategies and make recommendations for program changes and enhancements.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in related field required Two years of professional experience in student advising, admissions, or demonstrated experience as a previous student leader on a college campus. Documented history of successfully driving projects to completion Ability to travel up to 75% of the time over designated recruitment territory required. Some overnight travel may be required.

Familiarity with higher education operations. Spanish fluency is a plus but not required.Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, and disseminate significant student prospect information with attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to efficiently and effectively solve problems, prioritize time according to tasks, initiate and implement projects independently. Strong public speaking skills 6 Excellent customer service, attention to detail, verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills are required. Working knowledge of CRM systems

Contacts are typically with co-workers, other university employees, students, applicants, parents, high school counselors, representatives of other colleges and universities, and members of the general public. Contacts are typically to give or exchange information, to resolve problems, or to justify, defend or settle matters.

The work is typically performed in an office. The work typically requires driving for extended periods of time. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and assemble/disassemble display materials. September through April is the peak recruiting period; during this period, extensive travel and school visits will be required. May be required to work beyond regular work hours (evenings and weekends) as defined by the needs of the department.
