About the Role
The IT System Engineer ensures reliable, secure, and efficient IT systems that enable staff to work effectively across the organisation. The role combines infrastructure management, user support, and systems administration with a strong focus on service quality and continuous improvement. Working in a dynamic environment, the position contributes to high system availability, strong cybersecurity practices, and a positive user experience.

Tasks

• Maintain and support cloud and on-premises infrastructure, ensuring system reliability, performance, and availability.
• Manage network operations and monitoring to ensure stable connectivity and proactively address performance issues.
• Administer identity and access management processes, including user lifecycle, permissions, and privileged access controls.
• Support cybersecurity efforts by responding to incidents, managing vulnerabilities, and applying security patches.
• Provide second-level technical support and remote assistance to resolve complex IT issues and ensure user satisfaction.
• Administer core systems including Microsoft 365, Azure AD, servers, phone/VoIP systems, and databases.
• Manage backup and disaster recovery processes, including regular testing to ensure business continuity.
• Contribute to IT projects and change initiatives, collaborating with internal teams and external partners.
• Monitor system and application performance, analysing logs and alerts to proactively prevent issues.
• Create and maintain clear technical documentation to support systems, processes, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Minimum 2–4 years of relevant experience in IT support, systems engineering, or infrastructure management.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and general systems administration.
• Experience with network management, server infrastructure, and cloud environments.
• Understanding of IT security principles, including access management, patching, and incident response.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in a structured and timely manner.
• Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and system monitoring tools is an advantage.
• Strong service orientation with excellent communication skills and a user-focused mindset.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, international environment.
• Experience in documenting technical processes and maintaining knowledge bases.
• Fluency in English required; German is an asset.
