The Institute for Applied Building Research (IAB) Weimar is one of the leading industry-oriented research institutes in Thuringia. For more than 30 years, we have been developing innovative devices, processes, and materials for the construction industry in collaboration with partners from industry and academia. To strengthen our competence team in the field of building materials development, we are seeking motivated individuals who share our vision and are looking for a long-term professional collaboration. We are looking for personalities who take responsibility, work independently, and drive sustainable developments with a holistic view of their field.
- Research and development in various areas of building materials
- Preparation of project proposals and grant applications
- Practical laboratory and pilot plant work
- Testing and validation of developments through plant and field trials
- Execution of service contracts in the field of material testing and analysis
- Preparation of scientific and technical reports
- Collaboration with and support of project partners and clients
- Successfully completed degree from a university or university of applied sciences, providing material-theoretical fundamentals in composition, material characterization, and material development (e.g. Silicate Technology, Materials Science, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field)
- High motivation to familiarize yourself with new and diverse subject areas
- Practical experience in building material development, production, testing, or processing
- Excellent German language skills (native speaker or at least level B2) and good English skills (at least level B1), both written and spoken
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Independent and results-oriented way of working
- Proficient use of MS Office
- Class B driver’s license
