We are searching for the best talent for a Medical Lead Oncology to be based in Vienna, Austria.
Position in the organization
Reports to: Country Medical Director
Job Purpose
· Accountable for the medical strategy of the Oncology Therapeutic Area (TA) and execution to achieve business & company objectives
· Co-leads Country Value Teams (CVT) by providing medical strategic input and TA expertise
· Leads the TAs medical teams by coordinating, coaching, training and developing talent and continuously improving processes and ways of working
· Provides thought leadership, subject matter and medical expertise across the organization as well as in external forum
Job Responsibilities
· Acts a driving member of selected CVTs within the TA
· Performs strategic portfolio-management and development of a long-term therapeutic area strategy in close collaboration with the EMEA Functional Network & CVTs
· Leads the therapeutic area in the development of the Medical Affairs (MAF) plan in line with the EMEA/IBVT medical strategy. Accountable that the MAF Plans are aligned to the overall Business Plan, Account Management Plans and monitors execution of the MAF Plans
· Forecasts and accountable for the management of the medical budget for the Oncology therapeutic areas
· Accountable for monitoring execution of the MSL activity plans, medical contributions to the account management plans and implementing necessary corrective actions if needed (Mainly through MSL manager)
· Accountable for tracking, reviewing and improving quantitative and qualitative KPIs (such as MSL or MAs field KPIs, IBVT content re-use, MAC, NPS etc.)
· Accountable for the development and succession planning as well as capability building of direct reports and within overall team
· Accountable for coaching activities of MSLs in the field (mainly through MSL manager)
· Drives an optimal cross-functional collaboration in the TA between Commercial, Selling, Market Access and Medical Affairs
· Establishes relationships to external stakeholders and builds a network of top KOLs and stakeholder associations
· Accountable for a KOL management standard within TA according to the OpCo´s needs
· Fosters development and implementation of innovative, customer-driven as well as patient-centric solutions
· Ensures optimal collaboration with the Global Clinical Operations (GCO)
· Reviews and certifies medical education material, succinct statements and all other material to be approved, if applicable
· Provides leadership and medical expertise in support of local product registration and reimbursement
· Supports audit and inspection readiness and co-owns potential TA-related tasks and activities during or after audits and inspections
· Ensures accountability of all team members, effective decision-making and empowerment to the lowest possible level
· Acts as role model for living the J&J Credo and shows full compliance with J&J Credo and HCBI principles to preserve trust and reputation towards HCP and patients using the products
· Accountable for Credo Survey results within area of responsibility (if applicable)
· Accountable for the implementation of ABCT culture (accountability, belonging, courage, trust) within the team, as well as diversity and inclusion initiatives
· Acts as role model for change management
· Shares proven success models and best practices with EMEA and MSM
· Performs ad-hoc project work on request
Minimum Qualification
Professional
Scientific degree: Medical Doctor or PhD
Minimum 8-10 years’ relevant work experience across more than one therapeutic area
· Medical affairs field experience (as MSL or MSL manager)
· Proven track record in leadership positions
· Deep knowledge of the therapeutic area, strength in research and interpretation of medical data
· Deep knowledge of Pharma industry and Health Care Environment
· Fluency in German and English required
