Job Details
With around 6.500 employees and 8.600 students, the Medical University of Vienna is one of the largest top-level biomedical research and teaching institutions in Europe. The Institute of Pathophysiology and Allergy Research at the Center of Pathophysiology, Infectiology and Immunology is looking for a full-time (40 hours per week) Postdoc-Position (m/f/x) (expected to start on 1/2/2026). This is a contract for a duration of 4 years.
The position will be embedded within the dynamic research environment of the Center of Pathophysiology, lnfectiology and lmmunology at the Medical University of Vienna. The Medical University of Vienna provides an excellent research environment including state-ofthe-art research core facilities and an international PhD program and various platforms which bring together scientists across departments and disciplines.
Your Tasks
The Institute of Pathophysiology and Allergy Research at the Center of Pathophysiology, lnfectiology and lmmunology at the Medical University of Vienna is one of Europe's leading institutions for Allergy research. We are looking for a highly qualified independent scientist in the field of allergy and immunology with enthusiasm for interdisciplinary and collaborative research, and commitment to teaching.
Your Profile
The candidate is expected to have an outstanding expertise in allergy research. The ideal candidate has a strong background in experimental allergology with translational impact and expands and cross-links with existing strengths within the Institute of Pathophysiology and Allergy Research, such as molecular and cellular allergology.
- Completed scientific or medical education with PhD or equivalent degree
- International recognition in the respective research area
- Successful and continuous acquisition of peer-reviewed third-party funding
- Educational and didactic qualifications including supervision of Masters and PhD students

The minimum monthly salary for this position (Uni-KV, VerwGr. B1b) is currently Euro 4.932,-- gross (14x per year) on a full-time basis and may be increased by taking into account relevant previous experience and other salary components related to the specificities of the job.
