About the job
Based at the Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich within the Culinary Department in Zurich, the Chef de Partie - Banquet is responsible for state-of-the-art culinary experiences. The Chef de Partie - Banquet reports to the Banquet Chef and Sous Chef.
As Chef de Partie - Banquet, you will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Taking responsibility for the management of your kitchen station, ensuring efficient and seamless workflow while strictly adhering to quality and hygiene standards
- Ensuring flawless preparation, quality, and appealing presentation of our dishes in accordance with our high standards
- Ensuring that food waste is kept to a minimum
- Providing creative support in the development of new food concepts
- Coordinating with your supervisor for inventory requisition and overseeing daily goods receipt
- Being responsible for the daily control of hygiene regulations and cleanliness according to HACCP guidelines
As Chef de Partie - Banquet, we expect from you:
- A completed apprenticeship as a chef. 2-3 years of professional experience in a similar role, preferably in upscale hospitality/gastronomy
- Flexibility and resilience – your position includes weekend and holiday shifts
- An eye for detail and creativity – to incorporate your culinary signature
- Excellent communication skills, teamwork, and organizational abilities
- Strong leadership skills to manage your own station
- High commitment, with a structured, results-oriented, and independent working style
- A strong sense of quality
- Very good English skills. Additional language skills are an advantage
