The hotel is ideal for meetings and events with its newly renovated event facilities, including a grand historic ballroom.
About the job
Based at the Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich within the Food & Beverage Department in Zurich, the Chef de Rang - Bar is responsible for supporting the bar and brasserie team to always provide impeccable service to guests. The Chef de rang - Bar reports to the Restaurant Manager and Assistant F&B Director.
As Chef de Rang - Bar , you will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Professional advice and customer care for our guests
- Professional serving of food and drinks
- Complying with our high-quality standards
- Preparing the required mise-en-place, covering and cleaning work in the restaurant area
- Supporting your superiors in their daily tasks
- Registering all transactions in the cash register system and carrying out correct cash accounting
- Assisting in the preparation and implementation of special events
- Complying with hygiene regulations and cleanliness within the framework of the HACCP guidelines
As Chef de Rang - Bar, we expect from you:
- A completed vocational training in the hotel or catering industry
- First computer skills, knowledge of the Infrasys cash register system and the SevenRooms booking system would be advantageous
- Communicative skills - guests will contact you with complaints as well as positive feedback
- Open-mindedness and teamwork skills
- Excellent manners and well-groomed appearance, as well as a positive charisma
- Flexibility and ability to work under pressure - your position will include weekend and holiday shifts
- Fluent written and spoken German and English skills. Further foreign language skills are an advantage
- Successful applicants must have the right to work in Switzerland
