Scientific Associate - Molecular Biology

We are seeking a motivated Biochemist Analyst to join our client's Protein Engineering Team within Global Drug Development (GDD). In this newly created role, you will support over 130 development projects by applying cutting-edge analytical methods to advance drug discovery and biocatalysis breakthroughs. Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize analytical methods for proteins, peptides, and small molecules.
• Train and transfer analytical methods to cross-functional research teams.
• Perform routine and advanced analyses using HPLC, UPLC, LC-MS, GC, RapidFire MS, UV-Vis spectrophotometry, and other techniques.
• Interpret and document analytical results, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot analytical instruments to ensure operational reliability.
• Utilize and manage a LIMS system for tracking samples and workflows.
• Support enzyme assay development and screening in high-throughput (HTP) format.
• Contribute to capacity planning, scheduling, and effective communication of findings to internal stakeholders.

Must-Haves

• Master’s degree (MSc) in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related discipline.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience in an analytical lab (preferably pharma/biotech).
• Strong expertise with analytical separation and detection methods (HPLC/UPLC, LC-MS, GC-MS).
• Proven experience in small molecule detection and protein characterization.
• Skilled in instrument troubleshooting, calibration, and maintenance.
• Excellent communication skills, with strong ability to present data clearly (written & verbal).
• Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to juggle multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in basic statistics, computer literacy, and electronic documentation systems.
