Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- 8 years of work experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, performing statistical analysis, and coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL) (or 5 years work experience with a Master's degree).
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- 8 years of work experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, performing statistical analysis, and coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL).
- Experience influencing executive leadership.
- Ability to demonstrate a proven passion for YouTube and helping creators grow.
About the job
As a part of the YouTube Data Science team, you will influence and inform YouTube’s product and engineering leadership. In this role, you will work on projects that are at the heart of the business, having a seat at the table on decisions that drive YouTube's continued success, all guided by the mission of improving decisions at YouTube with science.As a part of the Creator Data Science team, you will understand the growth and behavior of YouTube's various creator ecosystem, from traditional media companies to individual creators who are just "getting started" and build tools, systems, and policies that help creators grow on the platform. You will be involved in collaborations across the Creator organisations and format teams (eg, Shorts, Live) as we build a holistic understanding of the creator ecosystem and monetization.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to create new metrics, enable insights, and drive data-driven decision making.
- Analyze data sets and solve analytical issues to understand how Channel Memberships perform today and to inform future product roadmaps.
- Execute end-to-end analysis, including data gathering and requirements specification, processing, analysis, ongoing deliverables and presentations.
- Deliver business recommendations through effective presentations of findings at multiple levels of stakeholders through visual displays of quantitative information.
- Validate launch recommendations through experimental design and analysis.
