Job Overview
The Sr. Principle, Supply Chain Architect provides consultative enterprise architecture services to agile product teams. Candidate supports one or more product teams and provides a broad range of services to the teams from supporting product strategy to providing guidance on individual architecture decisions.
Candidate has a broad understanding of architecture domains (business, data, application, technology, etc.) and know how to apply concepts from those domains to the specific needs of their product team(s) while respecting the architecture principles and guardrails of the enterprise at large.
Provides leadership in defining the product strategy in collaboration with the Supply Chain product managers and product collaborators and ensures alignment between the business goals of the product and technology architecture. Support distributed Supply Chain architecture decision making through regular consultation with product teams.
As part of this role, it will not be enough to be just a technologist. Candidate is an effective facilitator that arbitrates discussions between many different partners to arrive at technology decisions and communicates decisions broadly.
Key Responsibilities
- Leads architecture definitions, technology decisions and works with domain architects (data, application, integration, infrastructure, security, etc.) and other internal/external partners to support decision making.
- Collaborates with Supply Chain product (portfolio) owners, product managers and other product team members to create a product strategy, identify investments and create roadmaps that support business goals and align to the minimum viable architecture (MVA).
- Works with enterprise and business architects to document the business architecture that the product or product portfolio supports, including business capabilities, value streams and business processes.
- Leverages relationship with internal and external architect groups to identify future technologies, trends.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree required preferably in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or business or relevant experience.
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in technology roles with experience in one or more roles such as Solution Architecture, Enterprise Architecture.
- A proven track record in at least two IT solution development subject areas, including integration architecture, application development, data architecture, infrastructure architecture (cloud/on prem), and network management.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with ability to accurately analyze situations, reach productive decisions based on informed judgment and influencing stakeholders.
- Strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills needed for both technical and non-technical audiences across organizational levels.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Good understanding of product management, agile principles and development methodologies and capability of supporting agile teams by providing advice and guidance on opportunities, impact, and risks, taking account of technical and architectural debt is required.
Preferred
- Confirmed understanding of the Innovative Medicine Supply Chain business and processes.
- In-depth technical knowledge of Supply Chain technology platforms.
- Experience with and knowledge of Supply Chain manufacturing standards for enterprise and site systems (ERP, Quality, MES, etc.) and equipment integration (e.g., ISA-95 standards, etc.) as well as GXP, Privacy, HIPAA compliant systems.
- A strong foundation on architecture methodologies, architecture artifacts and processes (including data management, master data management, data catalogs, etc.).
- Ability to translate future-state business capabilities and requirements into solution architecture requirements and propose and estimate the financial impact of solution architecture alternatives.
- Ability to work creatively and analytically to tackle business problems and propose solutions.
- Ability to articulate new insights and concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Skilled at influencing, guiding, and facilitating collaborators and peers with decision making. A good planner, communicator, and decision maker, always having the ‘big picture’ in mind.
- An Innovation spirit, always striving to provide better IT services and improve efficiencies.
