Association of Certified Commercial Diplomats is the first independent global professional body for commercial diplomats. Its overall responsibility includes the setting of policy and guidelines, as well as the examination, qualification and accreditation procedures for the unique commercial diplomatic profession. ACCD provides a wide range of membership options that are tailored to recognise seasoned practitioners and new applicants alike. The cadres of individual membership are complimented by a corporate option which is reserved for institutions that display an outstanding contribution to the commercial diplomatic profession.
Professional body of the highest standing
The professional body was founded as a result of the urgent need for an independent, non partisan and not-for-profit global professional awarding institution of the highest standing. An institution that will provide appropriate impartial regulations, advanced research, development and professional accreditation, public advocacy, capacity building, examination standards and professional education on commercial diplomacy at the highest level. ACCD is independent of government and does not owe allegiance to any political party.
Principal objectives as a pioneering institution:
1. To provide appropriate impartial regulations, advanced education and capacity building, examination standards and professional accreditation for qualified practitioners;
2. To provide appropriate impartial regulations and professional accreditation for qualified learning providers of postgraduate courses that display an outstanding passion for, and contribution to the advancement and professional practise of commercial diplomacy (i.e qualified institutions of higher learning); and
3. To advance the interests of practitioners of commercial diplomacy globally.
As the global voice of the commercial diplomatic profession, the umbrella of Association of Certified Commercial Diplomats covers ambassadors, representatives, trade advisors and negotiators, arbitrators, negotiators of IIAs, policy-makers & government officials involved in trade, commercial and or investment issues, commercial counselors, IIA experts, academia, private sector & NGO representatives, officials in government ministries, parastatals, corporations, academic, public and private institutions worldwide.
