Stream & Shout – Hamburg feiert 60 Jahre The Beatles
Vor 60 Jahren, am 17. August 1960, treten im Hamburger Indra Club fünf Jungs aus Liverpool zum ersten Mal offiziell als „The Beatles“ auf. In den folgenden zwei Jahren legen sie in den Live-Clubs von Hamburgs legendärem Unterhaltungsviertel den Grundstein für ihre Weltkarriere: An keinem Ort der Welt spielen die Beatles mehr als in Hamburg, die monatelangen Engagements und endlosen Nächte in den Clubs auf St. Pauli machen sie zu einer professionellen Live-Band, hier treffen sie auf Ringo Starr, hier formen sie ihren Stil und finden einen neuen Haarschnitt. Oder wie es John Lennon kurz und knapp formuliert: „We grew up in Hamburg, not Liverpool.“ Zum 60. Jubiläum der Beatles heißt es auf St. Pauli wieder: „Mach Schau!“ Hamburg lädt Beatles-Fans aus aller Welt in die Original-Location ein: Die große Jubiläumsshow „Stream & Shout“ direkt aus dem Indra ist ab dem 17. Hamburgs Beatles-Expertin Stefanie Hempel präsentiert gemeinsam mit Musikerfreunden und prominenten Gästen ein einzigartiges Rock’n’Roll-Special, vom rekonstruierten Original-Set der Beatles aus dem August 1960 über die großen Hits und legendären Songs. Klassischer Rock’n’Roll und Neuinterpretationen treffen auf Geschichten und Anekdoten aus dem wilden Leben der jungen Beatles in Hamburg. Freuen Sie sich auf ein großes Wiedersehen mit Zeitzeugen, Weggefährten, Fans und Freunden der Beatles und eine musikalische Entdeckungstour durch Hamburgs legendären Stadtteil St. Pauli. --------------------------------- It was sixty years ago, on 17 August 1960, that five young lads from Liverpool had their very first public appearance as “The Beatles” – live on stage at the Indra in Hamburg. In the following two years, they would lay the foundations for their global career in the live clubs of St Pauli, Hamburg’s famous entertainment district. In Hamburg the Beatles ended up having more gigs than anywhere else in the world. With months of uninterrupted engagements and endless nights in the clubs of St Pauli, the Beatles swiftly turned into a professional live band. Hamburg is also the place where the Beatles met Ringo Starr, where they shaped their unique style and where they acquired their iconic haircut. Or, as John Lennon aptly put it, the lads “grew up in Hamburg, not Liverpool”. On the occasion of the Beatles’ 60th anniversary, Hamburg invites Beatles fans from around the world to enjoy a grand anniversary show at the original venue: “Stream & Shout” will be available here via livestream from 17 August, 9 pm (CET). The event will be hosted by Stefanie Hempel, Hamburg’s Beatles expert, who will be joined by friends from the music scene as well as celebrity guests. Together, they will be presenting a unique rock'n'roll programme, including the reconstructed original Beatles set from August 1960 as well as some of the Beatles’ greatest hits and legendary songs. There will be classic pieces and new interpretations alongside entertaining stories and anecdotes from the young Beatles’ wild years in Hamburg.
