The Bulgarian State Railways (abbreviated as BDZ or BDŽ) are state owned railway company, established in 1888, and are the largest railway carrier in the country. The structure of BSR/BDZ is a holding company with two main subsidiaries - BDZ-Passengers and BDZ-Cargo.
