Mission of National Research and Development Institute for Nonferrous and Rare Metals - INCDMNR is: Elaboration and applying of policy in the field of research - development and innovation of non-ferrous metallurgy and other related areas to enable wider national and international scientific heritage, to increase efficiency and competitiveness of the economy and ensure a rapid and sustainable development in the economic and social area.

In accordance with Government Decision establishing (GD 2115/24.11.2004) and the Rules of Organization and Functioning of National Research and Development Institute for Nonferrous and Rare Metals INCDMNR - IMNR, objects of activity of the institute include:

A. Research and development activities CAEN code 7310;

B. Related Activities:

· NACE code 7430 – Technical testing and analysis;

· NACE code 3710 – Recovery of recyclable metal waste and scrap;

· NACE code 2753 – Light non-ferrous metal casting;

· NACE code 2754 – Casting of other non-ferrous metals;

· NACE code 2732 – Cold rolling;

· NACE code 2734 – Drawing;

· NACE code 2624 – Manufacture of ceramic products for technical use;

· NACE code 5157 – Wholesale of waste and scrap;

· NACE code 2852 – General mechanical operations;

· NACE code 4012 – Transmission of electricity;

C. The training and professional specialization;

D. Technology transfer activities of research results in their own field of activity, consultancy, marketing and services in the profile;

E. Capitalization of the research results through production activities of small tonnage;

F. Activity to support research and technological development, through: profile exhibitions, symposia, scientific communications, reports and summaries of their own activities.

G. Participation in research programs of the European Union and other international programs

Organizational structure of INCDMNR includes:

· Research Departament three research laboratories:

o Laboratory of Nanostructured Materials;

o Laboratory of New Materials and Technologies;

o Laboratory of Eco-technologies and Environmental Protection;

· Collective of Technological Testings;

· Economic - Finance - Administrative Department, three services (Mecano - Energy, Commercial Administration Service and Financial Services - Accounting, Investments,subordinated to the Financial Director;

· Laboratory for the Chemical and Physical – chemical Analyses, Structural characterization and Mechanical tests are directly subordinated to the General Director;

· Department of Quality Assurance and Quality Management, Technical Services - Marketing Programs, Human Resources, Occupational Safety and Fire Fighting and Prevention;

· Technology Transfer Center CTT-AVANMAT, without legal personality, is subordinated to the General Director;

· Laboratory of chemical and physical analyses for the characterization of nano-biomaterials;

· Laboratory of microscopic characterization for conformity assessment of metallic materials, composites, minerals, ceramics, support for retaining the gaseous pollutant emissions.
